The Dr. Jose A. Quiles & Dr. Cayetano Socarras “Chacho” Endowed Scholarship Fund

Drs. Quiles and Socarrás are the Fraternal Fathers of Lambda Theta Phi and were members of the Kean University faculty/administration. The commitment and dedication they gave the Fraternity has earned them the love and admiration of all brothers. Each of these men provided support, mentorship, and guidance to the Founding Fathers and continued to do so as the Fraternity developed. Founding Father Agustín García has stated, “These two men fathered the brothers.  A father teaches and these two men had taught.”

The Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity Inc. Alpha Chapter is seeking to establish a scholarship fund at Kean University in honor of Fraternal Fathers Dr. Jose A. Quiles and Dr. Cayetano Socarras. 

This scholarship fund is being established in recognition of the countless contributions made by Drs. Quiles and Socarras; not only to the Kean Community and our fraternity, but also to the broader Latino community as inspirational leaders and mentors throughout their many years of service.
